Happy

An app that allows users to have access to happy hour deals any time of day with the push of a button. Happy also solves the problem of excess capacity at bars and restaurants by bringing in customers during typically slow hours.

As the design lead at Happy, I set out to create an intuitive, exciting app that not only captured the essence of the bars that were highlighted but also made a complex new product easy to use and explain. We built journey maps, hosted design studios, and did as much guerilla testing as possible to create an interface and experience that was as intuitive & enjoyable as possible.

“With the timer, the restaurant pages, the map, the mail and social functions, there are lots of options to navigate. Happy is also clean & well designed, so the busyness does not cause a problem.”

Art Direction

Capture the essence of each bar

We wanted to capture the uniqueness of each of the bars and restaurants in the app, without highlighting partying or over-indulging. Since the majority of bars and restaurants have low light and have a cozy warm feel, we ran with that as our main photo style. We leaned into the colors from these moody photos in our brand identity and color palette.
